Excellence in Care Management
The first Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 5 accredited course, specifically designed those who hold managerial responsibility in all types of care settings has received exceptional feedback since its introduction at Care Live UK in September.

The current qualification framework of NVQ4 – Leadership and Management in Care is often undertaken purely to achieve the required qualification within a given timescale. As such there is great emphasis on getting the work done and maybe not enough emphasis on learning, reflecting and actioning the learning. There is also the requirement for managers in care settings to maintain their skills and knowledge via continuing professional development. Yet other than short courses there are few natural qualifications for managers to progress to. Until now -

Excellence in Care Management has been designed specifically to meet the CPD needs of managers in care settings. The course is a mix of developing relationship skills and increasing knowledge on the managerial aspects of senior leadership in the care sector, and investigating “attitudes”, both of managers and their teams.

Excellence in Care Management requires attendance for 2 consecutive days per month over 5 months and will be run across the UK from November 2009.  It is also available on an in-house basis. The delegate rate (which includes ILM Student Membership) is £1250 per person. Substantial discounts are available for organisations wishing to book the course for in-house delivery.
As managers and leaders you are already Excellent in elements of what you do every day.  EiCM’s trainers will draw these elements of good practise out of each delegate, enabling the whole group to learn from each other.  There is an expectation of a commitment from each delegate to support and add value to the many interactive projects undertaken in the sessions.  
The course will combine cutting edge management tools with practical techniques that can be used in the workplace and as the course is accredited by ILM at level 5, delegates will be enrolled as Student Members of ILM as the course commences.
Finally, there is a filtering interview that each delegate must have with either Darren or Tim before enrolling on the course to ensure that the course is right for you and you are right for the course!
