Care Check CRB launches e-Bulk Paperless Applications
This week Care Check has launched its Paperless Application Channel for the submission of CRB Checks. e-Bulk is a fantastic system which will revolutionise the way Care Check's clients request their CRB Checks.

e-Bulk is a completely paperless online application channel. Applications are submitted via Care Check's web site and are linked directly through to the CRB's IT systems. This results in a much faster, smoother application process cutting down on the hassle of requesting CRB's by a huge amount and eliminating errors when completing application forms.

Because there is no manual handling or postage Care Checks clients can expect to receive their disclosure results in a reduced period, on average timescales are cut by 10 days. In areas where Stage four, the police force stage of the CRB process is performed quickly Organisations can expect to receive their disclosure results in under 48 hours from the time of submission, and ISA 1st Checks in less than 24 hours if requested, less time than it takes to post a Paper application to the CRB.

What's different about e-Bulk to the current online application channels being offered by some CRB Umbrellas?

e-Bulk is completely paperless, where some Umbrella bodies already offer an online application channel the form still has to be printed out and sent to the employer for applicant signature and ID check. e-Bulk requires no signature, and the employer also completes the ID section of the form online via the e-Bulk system. This essentially means that if your staff member fills out their form and the employer checks the ID online at 9am in the morning the application is with the counter signatory and then submitted to the CRB by 9 15 am. That's less time than it takes to package, address and get the application to the post box!

How does it work?

When you want your staff member to apply for a CRB they visit our web site where they can complete their application in a simple 5 step process. No errors can occur because the system will notify the applicant of errors while they are completing the form. Once they have provided their information the e-Bulk system directs the applicant to provide the ID checker within your organisation with their chosen ID documents. The ID Checker then logs on to the system and completes the ID section of the form. Specifies if the applicant is working with Children or Vulnerable Adults, the level of check required and if they want to request an ISA Adult 1st Check. The form can then be transferred via the internet to the CRB for processing. Then once the application is completed the certificate is transferred back to the organisation in the form of a PDF document. This can then be stored securely within the e-Bulk system or printed off for the purposes of CQC or OFSTED audit.

Is it secure?

e-Bulk is a CRB approved system, linked up via government secure intranet to our software solution. This means that it is extremely secure. All organisations registered with Care Check to use the e-Bulk system will be provided with secure log on details and it the web site is protected in the highest standards. Care Checks internet servers are held within the CRB meaning that you cannot get any more secure than our systems and there is no chance of disclosure information being compromised in any way.

Are there large cost implications if I want to take advantage of the e-Bulk system?

Not at all! Care Check charges the same for e-Bulk applications as Paper route applications. There are no registration fees and you will have no postage costs whatsoever. Care Check clients can take advantage of the e-Bulk system for a little as £10 per application.

Is it hard to set up?

e-Bulk is a simple web portal. Once an organisation has registered with Care Check you can be set up on the system within 24 hours and submitting your checks in this fantastic new way.
